Scores of people also visited the municipal offices to verify if the allegations were true.

Updates on water cuts
Thursday, 20 March 2008

We understand that the recent water cuts have impact negatively towards the day-to-day lives of our community members. As reflected in our Vision Statement, we strive to accomplish our mandate of being a vehicle of affordable quality services and stability through socio-economic development and quality leadership.

Due to the Limpopo River in flood, six of the municipal pumps are out of order due to damage caused by excessive debris such as large tree stumps. Despite all those challenges, we are doing our best to make sure that our people get the available water.

Reduction of electricity consumption
Thursday, 20 March 2008

In order to reduce electricity consumption by the required 10% target from Eskom, the Musina Local Municipality has started implementing power-saving initiatives. The initiatives include the usage of air conditioners, which has been limited to certain times during working hours.

All other unused computer equipment, lights and other electric equipment must be switched off or unplugged.

The Municipality hopes that this will bring positive results amid the dark cloud of load shedding which has been a major concern country-wide.
