Musina Mayor, Cllr NG Mawela, today 16 October 2026, led a school support programme at Malilele Secondary School in partnership with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Bonakude Consulting.
The programme aimed to educate learners about the field of internal auditing, raise awareness of its importance, and inspire them to explore the various career paths available to them. It also provided a platform to encourage learners to remain consistent, committed and focused on their academic journeys.
Learners were informed about the Musina Mayoral Bursary which will be open for applications from 20 October to 30 November 2026. The bursary has supported numerous beneficiaries from Musina Local Municipality, with some beneficiaries having gone on to secure employment at the municipality.
As part of its commitment to supporting education, the Office of the Mayor donated scientific calculators to deserving learners, while Bonakude Consulting donated 43 pairs of school shoes, pencile cases and rulers, and the IIA distributed goodies to learners who actively participated in the programme.
The initiative reaffirmed the importance of partnerships between local government and professional institutions in empowering learners with knowledge, educational support and career guidance to help them build a brighter future.
